It's that time again...

Not for me, but for some poor woman and the man who tolerates her during "that" time of the month. Click below to see what you can do to be better prepared.

HIGHER STANDARDS YEAH RIGHT!

Dear Sir:

I am writing to thank you for bouncing my check with which I endeavored to pay for dinner last month. By my calculations, three nanoseconds must have elapsed between his presenting the check and the arrival in my account of the funds needed to honor it. I refer, of course, to the automatic monthly deposit of my entire salary, an arrangement which, I admit, has only been in
place for eight years. You are to be commended for seizing that brief window of opportunity, and also for debiting my account $50 by way of penalty for the inconvenience caused to your bank. My thankfulness springs from the manner in which this incident has caused me to rethink my errant financial ways. I noticed that whereas I personally attend to your telephone calls and
letters, when I try to contact you, I am confronted by the impersonal, overcharging, rerecorded aceless entity which your bank has become.
>From now on, I, like you, choose only to deal with a flesh-and-blood person. My mortgage and loan repayments will, therefore and hereafter, no longer be automatic, but will arrive at your bank, by check, addressed personally and confidentially to an employee at your bank whom you must nominate. Be aware that it is an offense under the Postal Act for any other person to open such an envelope. Please find attached an Application Contact Status which I require your chosen employee to complete. I am sorry it runs to eight pages, but in order that I know as much about him or her as your bank knows about me, there is no alternative. Please note that all copies of his or her medical history must be countersigned by a Notary Public, and the
mandatory details of his/her financial situation (income debts, assets and liabilities) must be accompanied by documented proof. In due course, I will issue your employee with a PIN number which he/she must quote in dealings with me. I regret that it cannot be shorter than 28 digits but, again, I have modeled it on the number of button presses required to access my account balance on your phone bank service. As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Let me level the playing field even further. Press buttons as follows:
1.- To make an appointment to see me.
2.- To query a missing payment.
3.- To transfer the call to my living room in case I am there.
4.- To transfer the call to my bedroom in case I am sleeping.
5. -To transfer the call to my toilet in case I am attending to nature.
6.- To transfer the call to my mobile phone if I am not at home.
7.- To leave a message on my computer, a password to access my computer is required. Password will becommunicated at a later date to the Authorized Contact.
8. To return to the main menu and to listen to options 1 through 7.
9. To make a general complaint or inquiry. The contact will then be put on hold, pending the attention of my automated answering service. While this may, on occasion, involve a lengthy wait, uplifting music will play for the duration of the call. Regrettably, but again following your example, I must also levy an establishment fee to cover the setting up of this new arrangement.
May I wish you a happy, if ever-so-slightly less prosperous New Year?

Your Humble Client

whadaya got JUNK?!?!

I am back and ready to reveal the mystery. It really wasn't my intention to leave it this long, although I did enjoy my little ego trip with all those comments, hee hee. Anyway, for those of YOU who think this is a scam and I won't mention any names it isn't. My computer has really been acting up and I still haven't fixed all the bugs.

Anyway, there really has been a debate going on for about 3 years. For those of you who read this blog regularly you know
Jeanette and I are inseperable. Her house is my second home and with the exception of Thanksgiving and Bunco she has "stuff" sitting at the end of her kitchen table and end chair. I say "stuff" b/c I don't want to insult her make her mad and thus end my refrigerator rights when I go over there. Like I said it was like 3 years ago and I asked her what all this "stuff" was and she said it was stuff she left out b/c she had to go through it. The thing was, this "stuff" could be sitting there a month and even when that "stuff" would be gone through new "stuff" would appear. Now, let me know if you agree or not but I would think this would constitute, validate, warrant (or whatever word you want to use) having a junk drawer there by eliminating the pile to free up space. Well, Jeanette having not been raised with a junk drawer does not think this is necessary. Each to their own. Well, feeling the need to blog about it came about b/c the debate once again came up when we discussed it recently and I wanted to see if I was in the majority. Well, you certainly let me know didn't you?!! Anyway, I hope you aren't too disapointed.

Oh and one last thing.
YOU who said you wouldn't post about your identity theft incident until I gave it up may now tell all, even though you never commented about your junk drawer preference.

Junk anyone?

I have an interesting question...who has a "junk" drawer in their home. It doesn't have to be in the kitchen either. I just want to know who has one. When I feel enough people have answered this ridiculous question I will tell you the method to my madness. Thanks!

just like MOM used to make.

We all have them don't we? Things we make now b/c our mothers made them for us growing up. I know I do. When I was little I adored my mother, idolized her really. We were always really close, even when I was on my way to hell. Anyway, she just had certain ways of making things and now I do it the same way to pass on to my kids. I hope they'll go on forever. Here are a few of my favorites.
Peanut Butter and Jelly
To Make:
2 slices of bread (whole wheat, she was always very health conscious)
butter
peanut butter (her favorite is crunchy)
jelly (any kind, her favorite was either strawberry or welch's grape)
Put them together and enjoy.

Peanut Butter and Banana
To Make:
As above except instead of jelly, banana's cut in slices

Macaroni and Cheese
To Make: (this is hard, pay attention)
One box of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (or 2 if you have a large fam)
A couple of Oscar Meyer hot dogs chopped up
other times she would also add things like chopped carrots and chopped celery

Carrots and Peanut Butter
To Make:
Shred the outside of the carrots
Cut into 1" pieces or there abouts
Spread peanut butter over them and enjoy

Apples and Peanut Butter
To Make:
As above for the most part

Are you getting the feeling we liked peanut butter? Anyway, you are getting the jist of the this post.

What do you eat to this day or will pass on to your kids something you got from MOM's Kitchen?

catching some zzzz's the cool way of course

When Brian came home last night the kids had already been in bed like 30 minutes so he went in to say good-night thinking they would still be awake. Jackson and Jared were but Jayden was out like a light and Brian came out saying "Where's the camera, hurry." So, I walked in and this is what I found.

Have you ever seen anyone sleep like this? I thought it was so cute. I guess he is trying to be cool even in his sleep.

Bathroom remodel update...2

As promised, a bathroom remodel update. We kinda got stuck over the holidays and didn't even touch it. Then Sunday we got a wild hair, went to lowes and hey presto!! got another chunk of it finished. With the most capable hands of Super Fuji all we have left to do is mud, tape, texture the walls and ceiling and paint. Not too bad. I am so excited I finally have a second bathroom again. Here are the pics.

One of the two sinks we got and a preview of what
it will look like and Ronnie cutting the beadboard.

Ronnie and Brian framing the door

Some of the bead board is up!!

Even I helped...

Brian making sure we can have running water.

Here it is, our almost finished bathroom. Can you sense how excited I am. We should have the absolute finished product in a month or so. Doesn't it look great.

Childhood Memories Part 1

from the minute you are born you begin making memories. the earliest age one recalls something is different for everyone. my earliest memory is being in pre-school. we went on a field trip and i fell asleep on the bus with my blue jacket over my shoulders. i can describe what my class looked like and the cubby where i hung my jacket and put my lunch box. i remember the teacher would play the piano and we would all sing. i loved to sing and that hasn't changed to this day. i remember loving the dress up center where i would pretend to cook and clean up. i remember the name of my group, we were the green frogs and to this day i have the green felt cut out frog with my name on it. i remember being really happy and loving school.

what is your earliest childhood memory?

doodle-board me lonely

I have been finding all these fun little things to add to my sidebar. Some stupid, exhibit A. useless blob. Some necessary, exhibit B. clock. Anyway, my newest addition is a doodle-board no one is using. So, this is a pathetic plea- if you stop by leave me a message in my doodle-board so I know it's useful. Thank you for giving in to a whine bag. Have a great weekend.

My oldest child decided yesterday (with the help of the private school he attends who have very strict rules regarding hair length) he was ready to hack it all off. He has had it long for about a year. Well, I think the stylist out did herself. He looks very cute. Oops, I mean cool.

Our Florida Family

My sister-in-law Jaclyn sent me some pictures from their Christmas so I thought I would share them with you. Brian's whole family lives in Florida and I think I should introduce you.

Brian has 3 younger brothers, (L-R) Ryan, Justin and Darin
pictured here with their wonderful mother Virginia

Darin and wife Jaclyn

All the brothers, well minus one.
We haven't seen any of them for 2 years and Brian is having severe withdrawals. Besides the fact he would move back to Florida in a heartbeat he just needs a really good vacation. Lord willing we will go this spring break or summer.

Changes changes everywhere.

Did everyone have a great new year? We had a great one. So much fun. We went over to The Fuji's grilled some steaks, made some daiquiris, margarita's and pina colada's and watched a bunch of crap on T.V. It was funny because about 11pm when we were all trying to stay awake. We looked at each other and said "how pathetic are we." We were feeling very old. Once the new year was in we ended up staying up til 1:30am. Not really a good plan when there are 4 little and 1 not so little boys who will be getting up in less than 6 hours. So, about 8am we were all sitting there watching Shrek 2. Great movie by the way if you haven't seen it. About 8:30 Jeanette and Ronnie started making breakfast. Let me tell you, this was the greatest breakfast I have had in a long time. They made Puff Panckakes and bacon. I have never had Puff Pancakes before and they were so good. I am going to get the recipe from Jeanette and post it.

On another note, the weather here has been insane. All last week it was in the high 60's low 70's. On new years day the kids were outside playing in shorts and t-shirts.

And today I am sitting here in my office freezing because it's only 42 degrees. You know what they say about the weather in Oklahoma, if you don't like it...wait.

The title of this post is reflective of our lives right now.
In a recent post I mentioned how there were some life changing decisions taking place and although I can't reveal everything I can tell you 2 of them. I have resigned my position at work. My last day is this Friday. The second thing and this is very exciting, we have put our house up for sale. Not sure exactly where we are going to live or how it will all work but I have total peace about it and that's all you need.

Now, besides joining a gym I didn't make any New Year's resolutions. Did you? If so let me know what they are.
