just bragging...
I have to take this time to brag about my oldest. This year he decided he wanted to play baseball so of course we went and signed him and he tried out and all that stuff. I have to admit, I was really nervous for him. I mean it's not like he's in first grade and just starting out. He's playing for the first time ever and was going to be teamed up primarily with other kids who had been playing since Kindergarten. Anyway, he did fine in tryouts and we got all the info a couple of weeks later about his team and when practices would start, etc,etc. So, the season starts and basically the team is not the best but he is so motivated and determined to do his best. Well, let me tell you he did. He absolutely floored some of those coaches out there. They all could not believe it was his first season playing. Even older boys were coming up to him asking him about his secrets. Here is all he accomplished in his first year: He played center field and caught everything that came his way, he pitched in the last game of the season and struck 3 kids out in a row and his proudest (and ours) moments were the 2 out of the park homeruns and 1 in the park homerun. He got the game ball 3 times and a trophy to sybolize his first homerun. He also placed 3rd in the entire little league for homeruns this season. So, I know I am biased but I was pretty impressed. He definately got noticed b/c they gave him a scholarship to go to summer camp. We were thrilled. Next year he moves to juniors which means a bigger field so he's a little apprehensive about that but he is determined to do even better. Here are a few pics I thought I would share.
