Million dollar winner!

Isn't she great? I think this chick is the real deal and was so excited she won for the second time. I haven't seen the movie and to be honest probably won't but her story alone is what makes me think she is deserving.

I am Bubblegum, yum yum.

bub

My friend Shanainai posted this quiz on her blog and I thought it was stupid but did it anyway. Here are my results.

You're bubblegum!!! You love to have a good time,
and enjoy being around others who feel the same
way. You tend to be the life of the party, and
people like to be around you as much as they
can.

Come on you know you want to...let me know!
Which kind of candy are you?

Something just CLICKED!

Have you ever had something just click? A few weeks back Jeanette wrote a post about exercise and how we had decided to join a gym. Well, I was going most days and really "trying" to eat right and all that but still felt like something was missing. Thanks to Jeanette I have become a dedicated Oprah watcher. She did a show to share with her viewers how she lost her weight and how she keeps it off. As most people who watch Oprah know, Bob Greene is her personal trainer and of course he was also there promoting his new book. Anyway, her boot camp is pretty intense and I immediately decided even I don't have that much will power however, there were 2 things she said and something just CLICKED and let me tell you things haven't been the same. The first thing she said was "You have to make a DECISION." She and Bob agreed anytime they ever heard anyone say "well I'll try." know they never make a permanent change. There is just something about deciding everyday to exercise and eat right. The second thing was "Be aware everying you put in your mouth." These may sound simple to you but to me it was like Oh ok, now this makes sense. So, for about 2 weeks now I get up everyday and decide to take care of myself. I feel so good. I am totally aware of "everything that goes in my mouth and it's getting easier and easier. Even Jeanette made a comment today she sees the change in me. And I am not depriving myself either. I treat myself everyday with one of those Russell Stover sugar free candies. If you haven't already you should try them. I know it's early days but I have never been this motivated before.

So, has anything just "clicked" for you before? What was it and did it stick?

FACE TO FACE...

I miss my mom. This is something I am getting better and better at dealing with. The pain can still be unbearable at times but I soon put things back into perspective and realize God always has a greater plan. During her memorial service I sang one of her favorite songs as a tribute. The song is called Face to Face and was written by the former music director of Grace Fellowship Church. These are the words:
Face to face with you, in your love and mercy
sheltered by your glory, as I stand face to face with you
amazing grace surrounds me, songs of praise stir within me
I lift my hands in praise sin no longer holds me,
captured by your grace I stand before you holy,
thankful for your love oh the joy of sweet communion,
there will always be within my heart a song of love
as I stand face to face.
As I sing this song, which right now is something I do daily it gives me such an amazing amount of peace. I know I can have this face to face encounter with God everyday here on earth if I want it and of course mom is face to face with her creator and having it daily in a way I cannot even comprehend. Being close to God makes me feel closer to her and that is all the strength I need to continue to walk this road.

Counting my blessings.

Last night I got my car back from my dad after 2 weeks without it. Wow, I had forgotten how frustrating it can be not to be able to just get up and go. To be totally dependant on others for everything. As I was driving home from the grocery store I suddenly was very aware of how thankful I am to have a car. It may sound really simplistic but all these years of having one I think made me take it for granted and then for it to be gone (even by choice) was really a wake up call. There are hundreds and maybe even thousands of families all over the country who are only one car families, maybe no car families. WOW, think about that...could you imagine having to rely solely on public transportation or the kindness of others 24/7/365? I know I can't. My family is so blessed.

What is one thing in your life you take for granted?

Redneck Valentine

Collards is green, my dog's name is BlueAnd I'm so lucky, to have a sweet thang like you.
Yore hair is like cornsilk, a-flappin' in the breezeSofter than Blue's, and without all them fleas.
You move like the bass, which excite me in MayYou ain't got no scales, but I luv you anyway.
Yo're as satisfyin' as okry, jist a-fryin' in the panYo're as fragrant as snuff, right out of the can.
You have som'a yore teeth, for which I am proudI hold my head high, when we're in a crowd.
On special occasions, when you shave under yore armsWell, I'm in hawg heaven, and awed by yore charms.
Still, them fellers at work, they all want to knowWhat I did to deserve, such a purdy young doe.
Like a good roll of duct tape, yo're there fer yore manTo patch up life's troubles, and fix what you can.
Yo're as cute as a junebug, a-buzzin' overheadYou ain't mean like those far ants, I found in my bed.
Cut from the best cloth, like a plaid flannel shirtYou spark up my life, more than a fresh load of dirt.
When you hold me real tight, like a padded gun rackMy life is complete, ain't nuthin' I lack.
Yore complexion, it's perfection, like the best vinyl sidin'Despite all the years, yore age, it keeps hidin'.
Me 'n' you's like a Moon Pie, with a R.C. cold drinkWe go together, like a skunk goes with stank.
Some men, they buy chocolate, for Valentine's DayThey git it at Target, it's romantic that way.
Some men git roses, on that special dayFrom the cooler at Winn-Dixie; "That's impressive," I say.
Some men buy fine diamonds, from a flea market booth"Diamonds are forever," they explain, suave and couth.
But for this man, Honey, these just plain won't do.'Cause yo're too special, you sweet thang you.
I got you a gift, without taste nor odormore useful than diamonds...it's a new trollin' motor!!

My BABY is 6!!!

Today is a very special day for the youngest of my 3 boys. My baby, that's right I said BABY! is 6. I don't care what he or anyone else says, he is now and will always be my BABY!! It's very bitter sweet. He has officially graduated from toddler-hood with several milestones this past year. 1. He finally came to the point where he no longer needed pull ups at night. 2. He finished pre-school, which leads to number 3. He started Kindergarten. 4. This is really personal...he can wipe his own butt (all the mothers will get this one). This really doesn't seem like a lot but at the time they were all huge deals. As excited as I am to see him become more and more independent, I am also very sad. I think it has alot to do with him being my last one.

So, today we had his party and it was a hit. It was an
Incredibles/Pizza Party. We had the kids make their own personal pizzas. It was so fun. We put all the toppings on the table and let them go for it. Then opened presents, ate cake and cleaned up. WOW, it all goes so fast. NEXT...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAYDEN, WE LOVE YOU!!

Side note: In case you were wondering why I hadn't blogged in a while I was sicker than a dog all week and while trying to nurse myself I was also nursing Jared who had the flu. It was horrible. Then to really end the week well our computer crashed and we lost all 3,000 of our pictures. Brian is trying to figure out how to retrieve them but it's not a very hopeful situation. So, this is the only picture I have of Jayden and only b/c I happened to put it in photobucket thinking I might use it. We have really learned our lesson, backup disks baby. I will post birthday pics this week.

Life

I have nothing to say. I am so not inspired to blog. So, I guess I'll just give you a life update.
Things with Jared have improved so much. We were considering committing ourselves there for while but we seem to have come come out of the valley. We are hopeful. He has even raised his grades. He is back up to upper B's and A's. We are proud of his efforts. He is getting involved at church and attending a sexual purity course through youth. I love our church.

Jackson is a reading machine and he has come so far in a year. He was the only student in all of first grade to raise his reading level an entire grade level. He reads at a third grade level. He is also addicted to Nintendo 64 and Game Boy which really gives us something to barter with when he starts in with an attitude.

Jayden, is going to be...wait for it...6!!! I can hardly believe this, let me tell you. To be honest with you, it's killin' me. He heard me refer to him as the "baby" the other day and was deeply offended. I let him know he will still be the "baby" when he's 30. Sucks to be the last born. I wouldn't know I am the oldest.

Brian is home almost every night for dinner which has been so nice. Things are really changing with his schedule and I am so thankful. He is also checking into some other really exciting things but I am unable to reveal what those are at this time. However, you will be the first to know if and when they come to fruition.

The house is still up for sale and although people have called no one has been by to see it even though I have been killing myself to keep it clean. How frustrating. I am still working out almost every day at the gym and really starting to see some great results. I won't give you too many details but I was pretty impressed when I bought some new jeans recently. ;) Currently, I am without a car b/c my father had a car accident when this big dog ran in front of his car on a 2 lane highway when he was doing 60. It took out his radiator, air conditioner and front bumper. He is fine. I let him drive mine while his is being repaired so he wouldn't have to pay those rental car fees.

I just read this and it's really boring. Oh wait. I am also going to this biblestudy by Beth Moore. It's called Believing God. I love it. I am learning something new everyday. Literally. Oh, and I am also going next week to audition to be on the praise team at church. I'll let you know how it goes.

Well, that's it for now. Hopefully I will have more to talk about in the next couple of days. If anyone has any ideas let me know.
